VoIP Readiness Analysis

What is the VoIP Readiness Analysis and why do we recommend it? This analysis is designed to help those looking to switch from a traditional PBX to a VoIP telephony system. Voice over IP transmits speech and signaling data over the IP network – in addition to the normal traffic. Real-time capability, crucial to telecommunications, imposes higher requirements on the network. Because VoIP technology relies so heavily on the IP network, it is important to test for vulnerabilities prior to migration to ensure a smooth operation.

To analyze your network, a test system is designed according to the size and complexity of the network to reflect the expected call volume. The measuring nodes and controller are installed on-site. These will simulate VoIP network traffic and measure data relevant to telecommunications. QoS parameters critical for VoIP, such as packet loss, latency, and jitter are measured over an agreed period (typically two weeks). After the analysis, you receive detailed indications of concrete vulnerabilities as well as recommendations for measures necessary to ensure reliable telephony. The VoIP Readiness Analysis is the first step towards migration, and can be performed independent of the decision for a specific telecommunications solution.
